“After a great experience speaking at ITA’s meeting during GDC, I decided our new company, Vicarious, should join the ITA for the high quality connections and information it provides members.” – Alex Chu, Co-Founder of Vicarious
If Alex’s name sounds familiar, it should! Prior to starting his own company, Alex was the former Head of Design at Samsung Research in Dallas where Alex helped create Gear VR and designed Milk VR. He also spoke at the ITA’s annual meeting during GDC. How cool is that?!?
According to Alex, “Vicarious is enabling everyone to create and enjoy virtual reality content through Vicarious, a VR magazine focused on immersive storytelling via new and legacy media formats. Our design-forward platform and tools put the spotlight on your content, allowing you to freely express yourself in VR, without worrying about the technical challenges of development.”

“VR is amazing in a lot of ways. To me, VR is the most powerful tool ever made to create empathy, and to be one of the precursors in this new way of storytelling. Trying to help create its grammar is one of the most exciting opportunities that I ever had. To make this journey, it’s essential to find people all around the world connected by the same purpose. The Immersive Technology Alliance is the best way to make this happen.” – Ricardo Laganaro, Director, O2 Filmes
The Immersive Technology Alliance is honored to welcome O2 Filmes to the fold. Recognized as the largest production company in Brazil, O2 Filmes’ owner is none other than Fernando Meirelles, the Oscar Academy Award nominated Director of City of God, Blindness, and The Constant Gardener. Read More

“Very rarely do we get the chance to welcome into the world a new format – it is even rarer still that we are we given the opportunity to be part of its development. Virtual Reality is such a unique opportunity. Amongst other applications, for us, it’s an exciting new way to tell stories. We are at the birth of its evolution and I’m personally very excited to see what its future holds.
