For those who had the misfortune of missing Immersed Europe in Murcia, Spain, here is a taste of the magic that happened onstage. The above is The ITA’s Neil Schneider interviewing Simon Brown and Grant Bagwell, Core Developers of the free and open source Vireio Perception VR drivers. They talk about everything from the software development to the growing friendship between them thanks to their work in virtual reality and on Vireio.
Listening to the wild applause and seeing the flash bulbs go off through the session, it’s clear that virtual reality and immersive tech is alive and well in Europe and other parts of the world. This panel exemplified the magic that was easily found at Immersed Europe and will be found at the upcoming Immersed 2015 conference in Toronto, Canada. It’s wonderful to see the industry’s best getting together to share their stories and build for everyone’s benefit worldwide.
At Immersed 2015, HTC’s Phil Chen, Founder of the HTC Vive, is keynoting and is being joined by an additional speaker (to be announced shortly), Sony Computer Entertainment’s Richard Marks will also keynote, Nokia Technologies Inc. is going to show off their OZO prototype, IM360 is coming, Starbreeze Studios and InMediaStudio are coming – nearly 30 speakers so far. Everyone is qualified to go, and special arrangements are available for start-ups to show their stuff and also get the attention they deserve.
The next Immersed event happens October 4-6, 2015 at the Ontario Science Centre. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
