“Please consider the potential and need to support this alliance of thinkers, inventors, entrepreneurs, institutions and businesses. I am on board with supporting the future of Immersive Technologies and I hope you will be as well.” – John Gaeta
The Immersive Technology Alliance is honored to welcome John Gaeta, Creative Director for New Media and Experiences at Lucasfilm to our advisory board. He is an Academy Award winner for his visual effects design work on the Matrix Trilogy (“bullet time” and “virtual cinematography”). John is a true advocate for immersive technologies like augmented and virtual reality, and his work is largely responsible for many of the visions that drive this industry.
The alliance is equally excited to welcome Habib Zargarpour, Creative Director at Microsoft Studios. A personal advocate for AR and VR, Habib’s talents have benefited such films as Star Wars Phantom Menace, Star Trek First Contact, Twister, The Perfect Storm, and more. In gaming, he is well known for his work on the Need For Speed series, 007 James Bond Everything or Nothing and countless more titles. RYSE: Son of Rome, a game he most recently worked on, got SIGGRAPH 2014’s award for Best Use of Real Time Graphics.
The full reveal can be seen during Neil Schneider’s presentation at the SIGGRAPH Global VR Meetup made possible by NextGen Interactions, Sixense, SVVR, and The Immersive Technology Alliance.
