Cloudhead Games’ The Gallery: Six Elements is one of the most anticipated VR games headed to market. Greenlit on Steam, it has blossomed from a successful Kickstarter to CMF (Canada Media Fund) support. Their work has been featured by the likes of Joystiq, Polygon, “Rock, Paper, Shotgun”, and more!
On the heels of a very successful ITA membership meeting that featured member and guest speakers like John Gaeta, Mozilla, Siliconarts and more, the ITA Board of Directors has approved AvaCon as a Working Group lead for our Metaverse efforts. More details on this will be provided later. All companies and entities that have a vested interest in helping build the metaverse, provide metaverse services and infrastructure, or simply want to see this market opporunity grow are encouraged to join The Immersive Technology Alliance and participate with this new working group.
First, Oculus Connect is just around the bend, and ITA Advisory Board Member John Gaeta (Lucasfilm Creative Director for New Media and Experiences) is going to be speaking on their panel about film and storytelling in VR. He will be joined by other industry leaders like Robert Stromberg (Director), Saschka Unseld (Director), and Kim Libreri (CTO at Epic Games). Oculus’ Eugene Chung will be moderating the panel. He is an Academy Award winner for his visual effects design work on the Matrix Trilogy (“bullet time” and “virtual cinematography”). John is a true advocate for immersive technologies like augmented and virtual reality, and his work is largely responsible for many of the visions that drive this industry. Read More

In addition to announcing this initiative, they have also declared intentions for the Immersion-VRelia PRO Blue Sky HMD. The PRO Blue Sky is a ruggedized head mounted display designed to meet the unique needs of entertainment and promotional applications based outside the home. Featuring 120-degree field of view and dual full high-definition 1080×1920 displays, the PRO Blue Sky is expected to be rich in features.
